Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) position on-site to process pregnancy blood samples for the Unity non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) in a high-complex CLIA setting. The role involves performing clinical laboratory assays, quality control, instrument calibration and verification, and contributing to R&D/tech transfer and validations. Requires California CLS license, a Bachelor's in chemical/physical/biological sciences, 1–2 years CLS experience, and hands-on molecular biology skills (DNA extraction, PCR). On-site in Union City, CA or Austin, TX with Tues-Sat shifts and differential pay for evenings/weekends. The position supports a startup-scale molecular diagnostics environment focused on cell-free DNA and prenatal genetics, ofreciendo a total compensation package up to $200,536 per year and comprehensive benefits. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences
- 1-2 years of CLS experience in a clinical setting
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
- Meets requirements for Testing Personnel under CLIA regulations (42 CFR, part 493)
- ASCP, CGMBS or generalist license required
- Hands-on training with manual molecular biology protocols including DNA extraction and PCR
- Advanced knowledge of Google Docs, Word, Excel, basic statistics and familiarity with LIMS systems
