Job Summary
Support quality assurance, control, improvement, and training projects while preparing the laboratory for regulatory inspections. Maintain all necessary documents, provide backup inspection support, and coordinate proficiency testing examinations. Perform internal audits, prepare audit reports, and generate recurring quality reports for laboratory operations. Stay current with regulatory agency requirements and proficiency test standards, ensuring proper initiation and use of MediaLab forms. Participate in monthly Quality Meetings to compose minutes and handle administrative duties as needed. This onsite role at Labcorp's Westborough, MA facility requires a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30am to 5pm.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or in a quality related position
- General knowledge of laboratory regulations (CAP/CLIA/ISO) and licensing requirements
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
- Basic understanding of audit related requirements and procedures
- Working knowledge of quality assurance best practices and procedures
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
- 100% onsite
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 3 months or more of experience in a clinical laboratory
- Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards
- In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
