Job Summary
Clinical Lab Technician in Invitae Genetics lab: Under supervision of licensed personnel, support diagnostic testing on patient specimens using molecular assays and platforms; assist licensed CLS personnel with clinical test protocols; identify issues affecting test results and escalate for resolution; prepare and label clinical samples, maintain specimen viability, and manage inventory; perform routine logging, documentation, QA/QC adherence, and equipment cleaning; dispense reagents under supervision; wear PPE and maintain a safe work environment; requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science and an entry-level background with some molecular biology and clinical lab experience; 2nd shift available with a pay differential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of lab experience
- 1 year or more experience with molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction and next generation sequencing (NGS)
- 1 year or more experience working in a clinical diagnostics laboratory
- 1 year or more experience working with liquid handlers or lab automation equipment
