Job Summary
Lead assigned client laboratory projects as the technical lead, evaluating operations including workflow, staffing, equipment, and regulatory compliance to provide recommendations. Support laboratory startups, expansions, and relocations by working with clients and vendors to plan design, build-out, and implementation. Develop and implement clinical workflows, standard operating procedures, and policies while assisting with method development, validation, and correlation studies. Ensure clients maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other applicable accreditation and licensing requirements. Travel weekly to client sites for project support and implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related clinical laboratory or scientific field
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in clinical laboratory operations
- broad experience across multiple testing disciplines
- a generalist clinical laboratory background
- Previous laboratory leadership experience, such as Administrative Laboratory Director, Technical Director, Laboratory Manager, Laboratory Supervisor, or similar role
- Current or previous professional certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/ Clinical Laboratory Scientist, such as ASCP or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience working in a hospital, health system, physician group, reference laboratory, or similarly complex clinical laboratory environment
- Weekly travel (~70%) to client sites
