Job Summary
Supervise daily laboratory operations as a Section Supervisor or Lead, providing technical consultative services to the medical staff. Oversee the performance improvement program, quality management, and fiscal management of the section while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements. Assess staff competency, evaluate performance, and manage equipment maintenance schedules across disciplines including Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Microbiology. Develop and maintain policy manuals, review quality control performance, and ensure accuracy of patient results before reporting. Recognize age-specific result differences and manage proficiency testing samples in accordance with CLIA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five years of hospital laboratory work experience
- Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1461)
- Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
Desired Qualifications
- ASCP certification, or equivalent
