Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Scientist II supports the development and implementation of new diagnostic assays. Working independently under the director's guidance, performs assay and equipment validation, authors standard operating procedures, develops training and competency documents, and ensures quality and regulatory compliance. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science, CLS licensure in California, and at least 1 year of CL Laboratory experience (2–5 years preferred). Night shift responsibilities at CHOC's Orange, CA location with emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and effective communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Biological Science
- Clinical Lab Scientist-CA (CLS) license; Limited Licensed CLS may be accepted in lieu of a General CLS
- Minimum one year of Clinical Laboratory experience; Preferred two to five years
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with computer systems and laboratory software
- Ability to read, write, and understand English effectively for safe performance of job
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under regulatory standards
