Job Summary
Perform clinical laboratory test procedures under general supervision, including waived, moderately complex, and highly complex tests on patient specimens. Ensure accuracy and timeliness by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures, performing required calibration and quality control, and completing testing within established turn-around-time limits. Maintain major automated equipment through maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting, while conducting proficiency testing and reviewing results with clinical leaders. Provide excellent patient care through clinical correlation of results, identification of bias patterns, and rapid notification of critical values to caregivers.
Required Qualifications
- Current California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
- Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA
- Must be appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory
