Job Summary
Maintain the integrity of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and implement associated functions, projects, or procedures. Perform laboratory testing on patient and control samples, prepare blood components for transfusion, and operate specialized analytical instrumentation. Implement quality standards, ensure compliance with regulatory inspections, and participate in continuous quality improvement through data collection, evaluation, and professional development. Develop training tools, resolve operational problems, and support department readiness for audits while adhering to all hospital policies and core values.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a doctoral or bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution or Post-baccalaureate degree certificate.
- Current State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
Desired Qualifications
- Two years experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in an acute care laboratory preferred.
- American College of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) registration preferred
