Job Summary
Clinical Lab Assistant performs phlebotomy on adults and children including heel-sticks and finger-sticks, provides clerical and technical support to the SEARHC laboratory and Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital, assists with specimen processing and laboratory organization, answers calls and supplies customer service to physicians, nurses, and others, processes chain-of-custody drug collections, and participates in waived testing and general lab duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Phlebotomy Certification required
- Clinical Competency within 3 months of hire and every 3 years
- At least two years of phlebotomy experience
- Ability to positively identify patients 100% of the time
- Draw blood successfully with one stick on 90% of patients
