Job Summary
Clinical Lab Assistant role supports laboratory workflow by obtaining patient specimens via venipuncture and capillary puncture, processing specimens, and handling patient registration. Responsibilities include processing nonblood specimens, assisting with specimen receipt and transport, providing phone support to patient care areas, maintaining competency with hospital and lab information systems, and training new team members or students in standard work processes. The position requires work in a fast-paced clinical environment with exposure to biohazards and PPE use; duties may involve lifting up to 50 pounds. Schedule is part-time (24 hours/week) with Union West location in Charlotte, NC, Monday–Friday 8a–1p. Education/experience: High School Diploma or GED; phlebotomy certification preferred where applicable.
