Job Summary
Collaborate with lab staff, nurses, and providers to ensure excellent patient care by receiving specimens into the laboratory information system and inputting results. Process specimens for transport, distribute them to testing areas, and perform diagnostic/analytic testing including waived and moderate complexity procedures under direction. Operate and maintain laboratory automation systems, verify instrument accuracy, and troubleshoot issues with supervisor or pathologist assistance. Perform phlebotomy, microbiology setups, and biopsy processing while managing temperature-dependent transport and monitoring refrigerator conditions. Communicate critical results to clinical personnel, coordinate courier pickups, and maintain QC/QA records. This full-time, 40-hour position at the Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center in Oakbrook requires a high school diploma and one year of lab experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a general lab, specimen processing or phlebotomy area or enrolled in lab related education program
