Job Summary
Internship for second/final year Master’s level students in youth and family services at Wayside Metro West Community Services. Intern will perform intakes, assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up care for families with serious emotional disturbances; provide in-home therapy, community visits, and collaborate with staff across multiple settings; require driving in the community with valid license and vehicle; CORI check and pre-service orientation; attend staff meetings; coordinate care with various systems; opportunities for supervision and CEUs; language assets in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole are assets; stipend provided with language differential.
Required Qualifications
- Internship opportunities for second/final year Master level students
- Second/final year interns only
- Available a minimum of 20 hours/week and ability to work two evenings a week
- Background in health and human services or related field preferred
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Comfortable in a variety of settings including office, home visits and community meetings
- Driving in the community is a requirement with a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- CORI check and completion of Wayside’s Pre-service Orientation
- Perform intakes, assessments, treatment plans/individual care plans, follow up care and ongoing treatment
- Weekly attend and participate in staff meeting and intern seminar
- Coordinate care for families and individuals including seeking other services and resources as well as collaborating with a variety of systems and providers
- Language skills: Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole are assets
- Stipends: $5,000.00/year for final year MA students with an additional $1,000.00 for language differential
- Field Instructors: LICSWs, LMHCs, LMFT
- Travel reimbursement: yes
