Job Summary
Part-time clinical instructors at Excelsior University are responsible for engaging with students through synchronous Zoom sessions, guiding them in their clinical experiences, grading assignments, and providing individualized feedback. Instructors must demonstrate clinical expertise and familiarity with nursing skills and technology. The role requires adherence to institution policies, planning patient assignments, and participating in pre- and post-clinical activities within the Canvas LMS. A master's degree in nursing, an active RN license, minimum RN experience, and current clinical experience in an acute care setting are essential qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- A master's degree in nursing from a program with institutional accreditation
- Active, unencumbered NYS RN license
- Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in varied clinical areas, caring for patients across the lifespan
- Current clinical experience within an acute care hospital setting
- Current BLS certification
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supervising nursing students and/or new graduate RNs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with various modes of educational technology, including video conferencing software
