Job Summary
Clinical Instructor (C.N.A./G.N.A.) provides hands-on clinical training in an approved healthcare setting under the CEO, focusing on teaching and evaluating fundamental nursing assistant skills to students. Responsibilities include directing and guiding students, ensuring Maryland Board of Nursing compliance, teaching foundational nursing skills, supervising and evaluating student performance, maintaining records, coordinating clinical rotations, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality, providing feedback and guidance, reporting progress to the Program Coordinator, and collaborating with facility staff and nurse managers to plan organized clinical experiences. The role requires RN licensure in MD, teaching experience, adult education coursework, and strong communication skills; schedule shown as 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with the Salisbury, MD location.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state of MD
- Minimum of two years’ nursing experience
- At least one (1) year of experience in the provision of long-term care facility services
- Providing direct client care or supervisory oversight in a long-term care facility or unit, including in a geriatrics department, chronic care hospital, or other long-term care setting
- Teaching a nursing assistant training program that complies with federal law
- Complete a course with a minimum of 16 hours of instruction in the principles of adult education, or have a minimum of two (2) years of teaching adults or supervising nursing assistants
- Must meet state requirements to serve as a CNA Instructor (such as Train-the-Trainer approval or equivalent certification)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills include the ability to market and relate tactfully with customers and other members of the community
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements
- Criminal Background check
- Current CPR & First Aide Certification
- Preferred: Master’s degree in nursing
- Preferred: Five years’ management experience in the healthcare field
- Preferred: Five years of teaching experience preferably in certification administration
