Job Summary
Certified Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (CDIS) to support inpatient and outpatient documentation integrity services at Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. Responsibilities include reviewing medical records for accuracy and completeness, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and coding staff to clarify documentation and ensure proper coding, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of documentation standards and CDI best practices, and providing documentation updates and certification proof to the VA COR annually during the two-year federal contract. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, certified professionals with relevant clinical or medical records experience and must hold MRT and/or AHIMA/AAPC/ACDIS certifications; continuing education to maintain certification is required.
