Clinical Informatics Specialist - NOT REMOTE

Job Summary

Serve as a point of contact for basic EHR and clinical software questions, assisting users with password resets, account access, and routine troubleshooting. Document and triage issues to the Informatics Manager or IT department while providing friendly, timely support to staff and providers. Execute system configuration tasks such as building user profiles, updating provider lists, and maintaining dictionaries alongside data entry, validation, and cleanup activities. Prepare training materials, sign-in sheets, and guides; assist with new hire onboarding by setting up accounts and scheduling orientation. Support informatics projects by gathering information, preparing documents, updating tracking sheets, and coordinating meetings as a member of the EHR Steering Committee. Participate in workflow reviews, test new features, and maintain communication logs, meeting minutes, and project updates. Communicate with software vendors to ensure system performance and advocate for enhancements. Work collaboratively with IT, Quality, Nursing, and other departments to support technology initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient with use and troubleshooting of clinical software
  • Must have a solid foundation and understanding of computers and technology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations and always maintains patient confidentiality
  • Follows and maintains all lawful safety, health requirements, and regulations, and follows protocols for required protective equipment (PPE)
  • Promptly reports safety issues, job-related injury, or illness, near misses, etc. in SafetyZone
  • Follows Hillsboro Health Standards of Behavior
  • Supports and promotes an environment conducive with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital
  • Comply with Hillsboro Health's Corporate Compliance Plan, Code of Conduct, and all required training
  • Complete assigned daily duties in a timely and organized manner
  • Work independently, manage time effectively, and perform duties under pressure or time constraints
  • Maintain personal competence through ongoing education, required training, and participation in departmental meetings
  • Maintain professional appearance, behavior, and communication
  • Support additional tasks and projects assigned by the Clinical Informatics Nurse Manager or designee
  • Follow safe work practices and report unsafe equipment, system failures, or environmental concerns
  • Must be available for occasional after-hours, weekend, holiday, or on call responsibilities based on project and organizational needs

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with EHR systems (CPSI/Oracle CommunityWorks experience is a plus)
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in Clinical Informatics/Information Technology
