Job Summary
The Ambulatory Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) serves as a liaison between clinical care and information technology to support the adoption, usage, and optimization of clinical technologies across ambulatory settings. Responsibilities include analysis, design, implementation, evaluation, optimization, and maintenance of clinical information applications and projects within the assigned ministry, requiring collaboration in a high-stress environment, and leveraging fundamentals of project and change management. The position requires licensure in a clinical discipline, bringing an understanding of clinical processes, patient flow, and operational workflows. The role involves on-site presence at Providence clinic locations within the footprint and frequent travel, including overnight stays and occasional weekends, with schedule determined by management. Preferred qualifications include informatics certifications or credentialing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a clinical discipline, Information Technology/Informatics, Business, Education, Management, Communications, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years in a position that has the same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting
- Experience with EHR systems
