Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive speech-language, communication, and AAC evaluations; develop and implement individualized, evidence-informed treatment plans aligned with student goals. Provide individual and group therapy within a transdisciplinary model of care, monitoring progress through clinical observation and data collection to modify plans as needed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and staff to promote functional communication, self-advocacy, and participation across educational, residential, vocational, and community settings. Participate in admissions, transition planning, and crisis response while maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Requires NYS licensure, Master's degree, and ability to ambulate campus terrain including hills and stairs; salary $70,000-$90,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- NYS Licensure in good standing
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certification
- Must be able to ambulate around the campus, including hills, stairs, grass and gravel
- Must be able to react and move quickly during student crisis
- Must be able to run across the campus and throughout the school to catch/monitor an eloping student, and/or to remove yourself from an unsafe situation
- Must be able to bend, stretch, sit, stand, crouch or kneel for sustained periods of time if implementing a hold
- You must be able to pass TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training for Schools)
Desired Qualifications
- up to 3 years of experience
- Experience working with autistic individuals or individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems
- Experience in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans that address challenging behaviors and promote positive outcomes
