Job Summary
Designs, implements, and oversees physician-ordered exercise and lifestyle programs for patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary, and chronic conditions. Assesses patient needs, prescribes individualized exercise plans, and instructs safe techniques for individuals and groups. Monitors progress through documented care plans and performance metrics while educating patients and caregivers on nutrition and behavior change. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, mentors Exercise Science staff, and supports research and graded exercise testing. Requires a Master's degree, 1-2 years of cardiopulmonary rehab experience, and ACSM-CEP or AACVPR CCRP credentials. Full-time hourly role at Methodist Hospital with on-site Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support through the AHA within 6 months of hire
- strong ECG interpretation skills
- advanced knowledge of exercise physiology in clinical populations
Desired Qualifications
- ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) and/or AACVPR CCRP credential
