Job Summary
Transports patients within the hospital following established safety policies and collaborates with the care team to transfer patients as needed. Supports patient throughput by timely response to assignments and prioritization of transport requests during high-volume periods. Communicates effectively with care team members regarding patient arrival/departure, required precautions, and transport of medications and/or medical equipment. Assists colleagues to safely transport patients and equipment, participates in departmental process-improvement initiatives, and demonstrates competency with the electronic assignment system and basic computer functions for administrative duties. Requires CPR certification and involves heavy physical work (lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly).
Required Qualifications
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification through the American Heart Association
- High school diploma or GED
