Job Summary
Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs and professional development initiatives for nursing and clinical staff across Medical, Surgical, and Telemetry departments. Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to assess learning needs, deliver orientation programs for new hires, and provide hands-on training, classroom instruction, and simulation-based learning. Maintain accurate records of clinical training and compliance documentation while serving as a mentor and resource for staff on best practices and evidence-based care. Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback and competency assessments, support clinical rotations for students, and stay current with healthcare trends to integrate latest standards into training.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience
- 1-2 years of experience in education, training, or professional development in a healthcare setting
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Demonstrates the ability to engage adult learners and facilitate effective learning in a clinical setting using diverse teaching strategies tailored to individual needs
- Serves as a role model of professional behavior, promoting ethical practices and a culture of excellence
- Adapts to changes in a dynamic healthcare environment with a positive and professional approach
- Exhibits strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills to drive successful educational outcomes
- Maintains current clinical skills and knowledge to ensure training programs align with the latest evidence-based practices and standards
- Understands the principles of adult learning and applies innovative methods to enhance engagement and retention for diverse learner groups
- May require some travel to other local Northwest Healthcare hospital campuses as needed
