Job Summary
Assess competency of new nursing staff members using system strategies while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals. Integrate theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members. Prepare annual self-development plans, set professional goals, and seek opportunities to achieve them. Contribute to quality and safety initiatives across the organization. Deliver formal education, competency development, coaching, and individualized professional guidance to support clinician onboarding, foster evidence-based practice, and advance excellence in patient care delivery within the Perianesthesia and Endoscopy teams.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master's program upon start
- 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty
- 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree is preferred
- 5+ years of hospital based RN experience
- Previous Clinical Educator or Clinical Mentor experience
- ICU or PACU RN experience
- ED RN experience
