Job Summary
Assess the competency of new nursing staff members using system strategies and tools while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals. Integrate theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members. Prepare annual self-development plans, set professional goals, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives across the organization. This role supports the Labor and Delivery department at Inova Fair Oaks, a national healthcare leader recognized for safety, quality, and patient experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree or BSN
- enrolled in Master's program upon start
- 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty
- 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
- active multi-state RN License
