Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (Onsite, Roseville CA)

Job Summary

Review inpatient medical records against established criteria to identify documentation gaps and draft provider queries using approved templates. Assist quality leaders with chart reviews, case assessments, and tracking issues impacting quality reporting. Communicate with physicians and clinical staff to clarify documentation and provide real-time education on best practices. Serve as a liaison between quality, coding, and CDI teams to resolve gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain current knowledge of CDI standards and participate in audits and metrics tracking as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's/Technical Degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, or related clinical field or equivalent combination of education/related experience
  • Three years' CDI/clinical documentation experience OR coding experience
  • Two years' clinical experience
  • RN OR LPN OR RHIT OR CCS, or equivalent
  • Current licensed RN, medical provider or equivalent
  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner Certificate (DIP): within 12 months of hire
  • All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
  • E-Verify participation and acknowledgment of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Familiarity with PSI/HAC validation, mortality reviews and external quality reporting
  • Exposure to risk adjustment concepts (HCC, SOI/ROM)
  • Experience communicating with providers
