Job Summary
Clinical Director - Steamboat Springs leads clinical operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and oversees staff development within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Oversees and maintains clinical quality and safety, manages documentation standards, and participates in leadership activities. Requires a Master’s degree, state licensure (e.g., LPC/LMFT/LCSW) and DORA registration, 5+ years of clinical supervision and program-management experience, strong ethics, collaboration, regulatory knowledge (HIPAA, JCAHO, CFR42, part 2), CPR certification, and proficiency with EMR/CRM systems. The role emphasizes strategic thinking, staff hiring/training, quality assurance, and maintaining a safe, inclusive treatment environment, with responsibilities spanning policy development, admissions oversight, and ongoing performance management. Duties also include crisis and counseling services support, after-hours coverage, and representing the organization in leadership contexts. Location is Steamboat Springs, CO; standard full-time schedule Sundays-Thursday or Tuesdays-Saturdays, 9am-5pm; benefits include health, retirement, and time-off programs.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree required with current State license (e.g. LPC, LMFT, LCSW)
- DORA-registered required
- 5+ years proven experience with people and program management in clinical settings
- Strong clinical supervision, group, individual and family counseling
- Strong ethics and ethical decision making
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Strong collaboration skills; guidance with/for other departments
- Ability to think strategically and make sound decisions
- Ability to see the big picture, macro perspective
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
- Working understanding of State and federal regulatory requirements (JCAHO, BHA, CFR42, part 2, HIPPA)
- Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Professional appearance, aptitude, and attitude
- Computer literacy and knowledge of EMR and CRM
