Job Summary
Clinical Director provides medical oversight to the clinical team, leads quality improvement and strategic planning, develops and reviews medical protocols, supports academic partnerships and grant projects, mentors medical students and fellows, participates in curriculum development, and delivers high-quality direct patient care. The role requires executive-level leadership, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, compliance with regulatory and tribal health guidelines, and active involvement in grant writing and reporting. Strong clinical expertise (MD/DO) with a current US license and DEA, plus minimum 5-7 years of clinical and supervisory experience, is expected, along with commitment to community health and adherence to immunization requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school
- Permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or Territory
- Current, valid, unrestricted DEA License
- Must obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges
- This is an executive-level management position requiring post-secondary education and/or considerable experience
- Preferred Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Preferred Experience: Licensed to practice medicine in any U.S. State or Territory; minimum 5-7 years of clinical experience with leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, project management, or academic collaboration
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
- GPTLHB tribal preference in hiring decisions if qualifications are equal
- Compliance with Employee Health Procedures and immunizations prior to employment (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap, and COVID-19 vaccination)
- Criminal background checks required
- Proficiency with computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online technologies
- Valid driver’s license and current professional credentials as required
