Job Summary
The dietitian is responsible for the clinical nutrition care of patients in the Acquired Brain Injury, Acute, Rehabilitation, Forensic, and Geriatric Programs. The dietitian plays a direct role in food service operations and is uniquely a member of both the Support Service and the Program teams. Under the general direction of the Manager of Support Services, the incumbent is responsible for the nutritional assessment and care plan for approximately 250 patients as well as training related to dietary and food services for program and support service staff. Experience in clinical nutrition with focus on mental health and acquired brain injuries; management within a health care environment; and adult education are assets. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) details and certification/licensure requirements are specified, including current registration with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree, Human Nutritional Sciences, dietetic or related area from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated
- Graduate of a recognized dietetic internship program or practical training program including Master of Applied (Human) Nutrition programs, which has been accredited by the applicable certifying body required.
- Incumbent must be currently registered and in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba (CDM).
- Member of Dietitians of Canada is desired.
