Job Summary
Develop and implement nutritional care plans based on resident assessments, integrating them into overall care protocols. Monitor and document nutritional status for Continuing Care residents while evaluating needs and discharge summaries for Home Health and Hospice populations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide nutritional counseling and educate staff on dietary plans and food selection. Oversee food production systems, sanitation, and menu compliance with regulatory standards, conducting Quality Assurance audits to maintain confidentiality and safety. Ensure all services adhere to federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining professional licensure. This part-time role involves evening, weekend, and holiday shifts within a 120-acre continuing care retirement community in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Dietitian
- Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in health care food service management
- Experience in clinical nutrition
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize clinical and administrative dietetics
- Issues in persons with terminal illness
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Initiative to recognize a problem and develop a plan of correction
