Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of patients to determine nutritional status and prescribe appropriate therapies including therapeutic diets, enteral support, and parenteral nutrition. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop, present, and modify educational materials for patients, families, and staff. Evaluate intervention effectiveness, document care in medical records, and participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives. Provide nutrition counseling and lifestyle education while attending medical rounds and consulting with other disciplines. Actively participate in research opportunities and community education programs. This full-time, salaried role at Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital includes weekend and holiday rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Nutrition/Dietetics AND completion of the required nutrition classes to be eligible for and complete a Dietetic Internship as approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics/Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Current registration as a dietitian with the Commission on Dietetics
- Current license as a Registered Dietitian with the State of Illinois
- Meets all organizational and department competencies for position and privileges
- Monday to Friday schedule with weekend and holiday rotation required
