Job Summary
Provide comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients, including malnutrition assessments, nutrition-focused physical exams, diet education, and support recommendations. Consult with physicians and allied health professionals regarding patients' nutritional statuses and specific diet plans. Formulate assessment, evaluation, and follow-up plans for patients at nutrition risk, documenting findings in medical records. Participate in clinical rounds, department meetings, and Journal Club presentations. Cross-cover and train in Neonatal ICU and Pediatrics as needed, providing staff relief for inpatient and outpatient services. Maintain current CDR credentials, DC licensure, and professional organization memberships.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree B.S with a major in Food & Nutrition Science from an accredited college or university
- completion of an accredited dietetic internship (RDE will be considered)
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university if completed after Jan 1 2024
- 1-2 years One year of general clinical nutrition experience
- REG DIET - Dietitian - Registered Commission on Dietetics Registration within 90 Days
- Dietitian DC DOH - DIETDC DC Department of Health-Board of Dietetics and Nutrition within 90 Days
- Current knowledge in clinical dietetics
- Able to navigate Electronic Medical Record efficiently
- Functional with basic word processing skills
- Good communicator with peers and members of the interdisciplinary team
- Able to manage time efficiently and able to multi-task
- Flexibility in schedule and tasks as needed
- Comfortable with public speaking
