Job Summary
Evaluate dietary needs of patients, develop and implement dietary plans, and document nutritional information in medical charts. Educate patients on food selection to maintain health and prevent illness, while conducting specialized nutrition classes and individual instructions. Provide education to staff members using materials or in-service meetings. Implement and monitor quality control programs, evaluating their effectiveness against goals. Ensure all tasks comply with regulatory standards, including The Joint Commission and CommUnityCare policies, while maintaining favorable relationships with patients, families, and the care team. Complete mandatory training and maintain appropriate credentials. Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Texas Registered Dietitian license, and CPR certification required. Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics
- Experience providing nutritional services in an inpatient/outpatient, one-on-one or group education setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of foods, nutrition and food systems management
- Extensive knowledge of available resources in the field of nutrition education and dietary services
- Experience developing and conducting on-going in-service training programs
- Experience developing and conducting specialized nutrition classes/individual patient instructions
- Experience in program/project management
- Current license in the state of Texas as a Registered Dietitian (RD)
- Current Health Care Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
