Job Summary
Monitor and optimize patients' nutritional status based on medical conditions, collaborating with physicians to coordinate care and manage enteral and parenteral nutrition support. Allocate time between inpatient care and the Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation Program while partnering with Food Services to verify nutritional labeling accuracy. Work flexible day shifts Monday through Friday with no on-call, weekends, or holidays. This Clinical Dietitian reports to the Nutrition Services Director and interacts regularly with patients, nurses, and families. Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Minnesota RD license are required.
Required Qualifications
- Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Minnesota RD license
- Requirement to obtain MN licensing within three months from hire date
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulation regarding food safety and sanitation
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Decision making abilities
- Computer application abilities
- Mathematical abilities
- Must possess visual acuity for inspection of data, figures, computer terminals, and preparing and reading written materials
- Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process
- Ability to attend work site per schedule
- Willingness to travel to outreach clinics
Desired Qualifications
- Previous healthcare setting experience
- Certification in Diabetes Education or Weight Management
- Willingness to acquire Diabetes Education or Weight Management certification within two years
- Food Safety certification
- Willingness to obtain Food Safety certification within one year of hire
- Proficiency with WordPerfect
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software
