Job Summary
Clinical Counselor Registered Intern provides behavioral health assessment and counseling services to individuals and families to promote recovery and wellbeing, includes individual, group and family therapy, trauma-focused interventions, and TFCO/Residential and community-based services; responsibilities include completing billable units, entering data into CIS, coordinating services with other professionals, supervising and training direct care staff, meeting program productivity goals, and supporting various program components (Treatment Foster Care Oregon model, Partners for Safe Families, and Survivor/Offender-focused groups); requires MA/MS and active Florida intern status, plus driving credentials, and adherence to Medicaid COA standards with EHR documentation and data reporting.
Required Qualifications
- MA/MS from an accredited university/college in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or Mental Health Counseling – OR – MA/MS from an accredited university/college with a major in Nursing, Rehabilitation, Special Education, Health Education or a related human services field AND have completed graduate level coursework in at least 4 of the following 13 content areas: human growth and development, diagnosis and treatment of psychopathology, human sexuality, counseling theories and techniques, group theories and practice, dynamics of marriage and family systems, individual evaluation and assessment, career and lifestyle assessment; research and program evaluation, personality theories, social and cultural foundations, counseling in the community settings, and substance use disorders.
- Active, unrestricted registered intern status in the State of Florida.
- FL Drivers’ License within 30 days/hire, along with daily access to a reliable and insured vehicle.
- For the Early Learning Centers Support Team: A non-licensed candidate shall be a registered intern working towards licensure to be considered.
- Two years of post-Bachelors experience working with at-risk children and families or one year post-Masters experience.
- Two years of experience providing services to persons with behavioral health disorders and/or the ability to be supervised by a licensed practitioner of the healing arts (LPHA).
- Three years of experience dealing with emotionally disturbed children/adolescents, preferred.
- Must meet Medicaid Master’s level practitioner staff qualifications as outlined in the Florida Medical Handbook.
- Must meet Council on Accreditation (COA) standards for specific skills and knowledge that pertain to the program in which the team member is working.
- Must designate credentials following one of these examples: [Name], Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, [Name], Registered Mental Health Intern, or [Name], Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern.
