Job Summary
Escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, and document information in patient charts. Instruct patients on medications and diets, prepare them for examinations, and assist providers during procedures. Collect laboratory specimens, perform basic tests, and administer medications as directed. Maintain logs, keep exam rooms stocked, and ensure sterilization protocols are followed. Triage messages from staff and monitor on-site lab compliance with regulatory guidelines. Oversee patient flow, manage medical supply inventory, and provide training for new clinical staff. Serve as the VFC coordinator while monitoring adherence to clinical protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read and write effectively
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines, in a detail-oriented manner
- Good visual acuity and ability to verbally communicate
- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a pediatric medical practice preferred
- Working knowledge of computer applications
- Prior experience with electronic medical records preferred
