Job Summary
Direct and supervise staff members assigned to the department, supporting hospital mission and promoting harmonious relationships among nursing personnel, medical staff, ancillary departments, patients, and families. Provide care to a specific group of patients while evaluating quality of that care systematically to improve outcomes. Ensure care delivery aligns with hospital philosophy, approved budget, and interdepartmental coordination. Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served in the operating room. Maintain BLS certification within 14 days of hire and possess ACLS certification. Requires Texas RN license and two years of recent OR experience; BSN preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
- BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role
- BLS certification obtained prior to providing direct patient care
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- At least two years recent OR experience
- ACLS
