Clinical Coordinator, Respiratory

Job Summary

Conduct duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist while serving as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for respiratory therapists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Manage complex respiratory care cases across critical care, emergency, medical surgical, procedural, and specialty areas, facilitating timely interventions and promoting compliance with protocols. Assist with quality improvement initiatives, regulatory survey readiness, and the development of clinical policies. Coordinate orientation, onboarding, and competency validation for new staff; plan and deliver department education programs and annual assessments. Support daily operations, staffing coordination, and workflow management to ensure safe patient coverage. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, hospital committees, and task forces as assigned. Requires minimum one year of critical care experience, current Connecticut license, RRT certification, and proficiency with Epic. Rotates day and night shifts in three 13-hour blocks.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Critical Care clinical respiratory care experience
  • Associate Degree in respiratory therapy
  • Current Connecticut State license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification
  • Neonatal resuscitation program (NRP) certification
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced acute care setting

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a lead therapist, charge therapist, clinical educator, or coordinator
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, team development, and conflict resolution experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient with Epic electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office applications
