Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day delivery of clinical services within the LAYC Housing Department by providing individual and group supervision to staff. Standardize supervision practice using evidence-based approaches and deliver direct one-on-one clinical supervision at least once monthly. Guide housing staff on clinical interventions, case management, and performance compliance while leading case conferences, trainings, and bi-weekly meetings for challenging client cases. Review and approve critical documentation including psychosocial assessments, individual plans of care, and discharge plans. Assist staff in crisis interventions and respond to emergency calls as necessary. Authorize referrals for mental health and substance abuse treatment services. Ensure all client case files remain accurate and up to date with LAYC and DHS regulations. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and Treatment Plan meetings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Level Licensed Social Worker, Counselor, or Psychologist
- at least 5 years' experience including 3 years in a supervisory role in a clinical or behavioral health setting
- LICSW DC license, authorized to provide clinical supervision
- Minimum five-year experience in working with youth
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of community and local resources
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings for school events
- Complete criminal and child abuse/neglect clearances
- Flexible, energetic, positive individual with commitment to youth development in a high quality, respectful environment
- Ability to work well and communicate with culturally diverse populations
- Comfortable with taking initiative, problem solving, and working independently
- Passion for mentoring and encouraging others
- Adept at building interpersonal relationships
- willingness to work effectively as part of a team (at the service sites and the schools)
- Driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to conduct individual, group and family sessions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to relate to culturally diverse population, including members of the LGBTQ and immigrant communities
- Computer proficiency
- May require the ability to travel locally and/or regionally
- Must be available to respond in person as necessary to emergency calls
Desired Qualifications
- at least 40 hours of training annually per contract requirements
