Job Summary
Coordinate patient check-in/check-out, verify insurance eligibility, collect payments, and schedule appointments to optimize clinic workflow. Perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, specimen collection, medication administration, and assisting with medical examinations. Maintain electronic medical records, ensure proper room sanitation, and complete follow-up calls within two to three days post-discharge. Behave professionally to build trust with patients and communicate risks to providers. Work Sunday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm, with variable shifts and rotating weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant or completion of LVPG Medical Assistant Trainee course
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems, word processing, and Excel
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining efficiency, in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
- Knowledge of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and basic patient care practices
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- Lift and carry 25 lbs

- patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR

Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from a Medical Assistant Program
- 1 year customer service experience in a healthcare setting
- CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - National Healthcareer Association
- CMA - Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants
- CMAC - Clinical Medical Assistant Certification - American Medical Certification Association
- MAC - Medical Assistant Certification - American Medical Certification Association
- NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant - National Center for Competency Testing
- NRCMA - National Registered Certified Medical Assistant - National Association for Health Professionals
- RMA - Registered Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologists
