Job Summary
The Clinical Coder at SEHA Hospital will code routine outpatient health records using encoder software and online resources, validating charges against documentation. This role includes consulting references to ensure accurate coding, appending modifiers as necessary, and utilizing retrospective editing tools to address coding or documentation issues. The coder will collaborate with healthcare providers and Revenue Cycle Management teams to resolve billing issues and interprets NCCI guidelines. Responsibilities also include tracking issues for timely follow-ups, investigating claims denials, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations.
