Job Summary
Provide culturally responsive, evidence-based psychological evaluation and treatment for youth at high risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. Consult the interprofessional team comprising nurse practitioners, dietitians, physical therapists, and social workers. Teach pediatric endocrinology fellows, residents, and medical students while contributing scholarship on diabetes prevention and weight management. Participate in departmental committees and continuing education offerings. This role supports the Department of Pediatrics and UVA Health Children's Hospital, where the team is rapidly expanding to nearly double its size.
Required Qualifications
- PhD/PsyD or equivalent from an APA-accredited program
- completed an APA-accredited internship
- licensed or license-eligible in Virginia
- demonstrate cultural humility
- skilled in interprofessional practice in a complex, academic medical environment
- obtain board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology once eligible
