Job Summary
Full-time clinical track faculty psychologist in Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health to provide clinical services and education in the interprofessional UVA Health Children's Diabetes Prevention and Fitness Clinic. Responsibilities include: providing culturally responsive and evidence-based psychological evaluation and treatment for youth at high risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, many of whom have obesity and related health complications; providing consultation to an interprofessional team; teaching pediatric endocrinology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students; contributing to scholarship on pediatric diabetes prevention and weight management; participating on departmental and health system committees and continuing education offerings. The section currently comprises eight pediatric and child clinical psychologists and is expanding; collaboration with pediatricians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other multi-disciplinary staff; UVA Children’s Hospital recognized among Virginia’s top pediatric hospitals. Qualifications also require a PhD/PsyD or equivalent, APA internship, Virginia licensure or eligibility, cultural humility, and interprofessional practice; board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology once eligible.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or PsyD from an APA-accredited program
- Completed APA-accredited internship
- Licensed or license-eligible in Virginia
- Demonstrated cultural humility
- Skilled in interprofessional practice in a complex, academic medical environment
