Job Summary
Facilitate health care services for patients by utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized care, coordinate care plans, and conduct patient assessments. Collaborate with physicians and inter-professional colleagues to plan and implement care while resolving conflicts with peers and families. Mentor staff, delegate to unlicensed personnel, and supervise clinical activities within the full scope of nursing expertise. Assist in new staff training, implement performance improvement policies, and follow up on risk management and safety hazards. Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, and medications in compliance with state regulations and the Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Functions within the legal scope of practice
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred in Fargo, Fargo Network, Bemidji, Sioux Falls Network and Rapid City
- Required in Bismarck and Sioux Falls (Sanford USD Medical Center and Clinics)
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, those accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA)
- Minimum of two years' clinical experience preferred
