Job Summary
Clinical Care Coordinator/Float Medical Assistant provides patient care and administrative support across multiple Twin Cities Orthopedics locations. Responsibilities include preparing, stocking and cleaning exam rooms; verifying patient information and medical history; recording vital signs and updating charts in the electronic health records system; assisting with injections, preparing for surgeries, and performing venipuncture/phlebotomy; coordinating scheduling for appointments, imaging studies, and procedures (MRI, EMG, PRP) and handling prior authorizations; triaging calls and facilitating communication among patients, providers, hospitals, and insurers; ensuring documentation, coding compliance, and adherence to HIPAA and relevant regulations; travel between Woodbury, Eagan, Hudson, and Stillwater locations as needed; requires ability to multi-task, maintain patient flow, and provide compassionate, professional service. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, CMA/LPN/ATC or equivalent credentials, and relevant clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Athletic Trainer (ATC) or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in a medical clinic setting or equivalent
- Phlebotomy experience preferred or willingness to become proficient
- Demonstrated ability or experience in patient flow management, medical assisting, and confidential management of patient health information
