Job Summary
Conduct cardiac testing procedures, assessments, and pre-test screenings including chart reviews, patient interviews, and vital sign monitoring. Interpret 12-lead EKGs to identify critical conditions and administer IV medications under physician direction while adhering to nuclear medicine safety measures. Document patient care information accurately and communicate abnormal findings to appropriate personnel. Perform standard resting electrocardiograms and manage Holter and cardiac event monitoring systems with patient education. Requires prior Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation experience, BLS certification, and understanding of anatomy and kinesiology. This hands-on patient care role supports diagnostic testing at Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus.
Required Qualifications
- Prior Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation experience
- Understanding of professional regulation and facility/program accreditation requirements
- Knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology with applications to developing personal exercise programs
- Knowledge of all aspects of Basic Life Support (BLS) emergency care
- Understanding of causes and consequences of illness, injuries, and disabilities
- Knowledge of procedures and protocols necessary to provide patient safety
- Typical and atypical human systems and development knowledge
- Ability to give clear instructions
- Ability to use time wisely
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment
- Travel
