Job Summary
Conduct specialized behavior intervention services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in home, community, and natural settings while supervising up to two cases. Deliver hands-on Behavior Skills Training to staff, provide caregiver education, and assist with assessment activities, treatment planning, and data analysis under BCBA supervision. Manage program execution, complete necessary documentation including progress reports and competency checks, and maintain billable requirements. Maintain current knowledge of ABA research and trends through ongoing training and attend staff meetings as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Master's degree program in Applied Behavior Analysis or closely related field that meets the educational requirements for the BCBA for BCBA examination
- Current CPR certification
- At least 1 year of ABA experience with children with autism spectrum disorders and/or other related developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices found to benefit children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
- Familiarity with the field of early intervention
- Familiarity with the approaches to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Competence in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies including Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and Behavior Skills Training (BST)
- Strong clinical, administrative, and leadership skills
- Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgement and decision making skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and related software applications
- Ability to maintain positive customer interaction and professionalism, communicate effectively through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups
- Demonstrated ability to interact well with children and their families, and to maintain a positive effect
- Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive situations and documentation
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test
- Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity
- Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements
- Ability to travel locally
- Maintenance of driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards
- Maintenance of auto insurance and vehicle registration
- Knowledge of licensed area of practice, interdisciplinary early intervention theories, and rehabilitation principles and practices
- Carrying/Lifting: Occasional / Up to 30 Lbs
- Standing: Occasional / Up to 3 hours per day
- Sitting: Constant / Up to 8 hours per day
- Walking: Occasional / Up to 3 hours per day
- Visual Acuity: Ability to view computer monitor and read newsprint
- Travel: This position requires up to 50% local travel
