Clinical Associate-Advanced Practice Provider (PA)

Job Summary

Provide direct clinical care for admitted and post-procedural urology patients in a 60% inpatient capacity and establish independent coverage for the Urology Immediate Care Clinic for 40% of time. Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and ongoing assessments; evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic urologic conditions within scope. Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic tests; develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Admit, round on, and discharge patients while writing daily progress notes, admission notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record. Coordinate care with consulting services, procedural staff, and the interdisciplinary team; participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Maintain active licensure, board certification, and BLS/ACLS certification; attend division meetings and respond to work communications during scheduled hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Master's Degree in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing in a recognized APRN specialty (Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, or Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant/Associate Studies or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law and associated professional practice standards, the latter set forth as an addendum to the position description.
  • Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software, including personal computing equipment, electronic medical record, word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work
  • Current RN and APRN NP licensure with the Oregon and Washington Boards of Nursing.
  • Current national Certification in the area of specialization.
  • Current BLS, ACLS or PALS Certification as indicated for the position.
  • DEA Certification.
  • Current PA licensure with the Oregon and Washington Medical Boards.
  • Current NCCPA Certification.
  • Current BLS, ACLS or PALS Certification.
  • DEA Certification.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prefer 3–5 years clinical experience as an APP that demonstrates ability to fulfill responsibilities for the specific role.
  • Quality improvement experience
  • Other position specific: Immediate care or urgent care experience
