Job Summary
Prepare, stock, and clean exam rooms while rooming patients and maintaining efficient clinical flow. Gather and verify patient information, compile medical data, and assist with documentation in electronic health records. Perform procedures under provider direction, including injections, dressing changes, suture removal, cast application, and removal. Act as a prescribing delegate to enter medical orders into the computerized provider order entry system. Screen patient calls, document messages, and support multiple specialties. Assist with medical supply inventory and coordinate patient care services as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines
- Ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
- Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
- Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines. Prioritize workload effectively
- Communicate respectfully and professionally in face-to-face, phone and email interactions
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift
- Ability to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching
- Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents
- Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer)
- Ability to act as a prescribing delegate to enter medical orders (i.e. medications, laboratory services, imaging studies and other auxiliary services into the computerized provider order entry (CPOE) into patient electronic records under the direct supervision of the provider)
- Ability to screen patient calls and respond to patient in a timely manner
- Ability to ensure coding requirements are followed during entry of patient information
- Ability to maintain an efficient, organized clinical flow
- Ability to gather and verify pertinent patient information; compile patient medical data
- Ability to assist with documentation of patient data into electronic health records system
- Ability to prepare, stock, and clean exam room
- Ability to room patients and prepare for exam
- Ability to assist with any of the following: Assist Care Coordinator with patient care services
- Ability to assist with medical supply inventory and ordering
- Ability to work part-time (0.5) position working Mondays 8:00am-8:00pm and Wednesdays 12:00pm-8:00pm out of our Burnsville location
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Athletic Trainer (AT-C), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); or equivalent experience
