Job Summary
Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient medical records with test results, correspondence, and personal history while determining needed services per practice protocol. Confers with providers regarding incomplete orders, prepares patients for examinations by measuring vital signs and updating medication lists, and documents patient information in the Electronic Medical Record following entity guidelines. Performs provider documentation, clarifies chart entries, and maintains exam rooms and clinical supplies while disposing of bio-hazardous and regular waste per protocol. Assists with scheduling outpatient testing, pre-certifying patients for procedures, refilling medications, and coordinating hospital discharges, ED visits, and specialist follow-ups. Communicates with providers and care coordinators regarding disease management, patient education on chronic conditions, and individualized care plans to ensure compliance with recommendations. Requires current BLS/CPR certification, one year of clinical experience or Medical Assistant program graduation, and the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program
- Current or within 60 days of hire BLS/CPR certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

- Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting
- Customer service experience
