Job Summary
Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient medical records with test results and correspondence, then confer with providers regarding incomplete orders. Prep patients for examinations by measuring height, weight, and vital signs while updating medication lists, allergies, and personal history. Perform provider documentation in the Electronic Medical Record, clarify entries, and coordinate follow-up care including scheduling outpatient testing and processing referrals. Maintain clean exam rooms, manage clinical supplies, autoclave instruments, and dispose of biohazardous waste per protocol. Communicate with providers and care coordinators regarding hospital discharges, community resources, and chronic condition education plans.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program
- Current or within 60 days of hire BLS/CPR certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting
- Customer service experience
