Job Summary
Assist clinical staff by performing initial physical measurements and history taking, including interviewing to obtain history; take Pottinger growth chart measurements (weight, height); collect specimens for laboratory analysis; conduct laboratory procedures per CLIA standards; maintain laboratory controls; document services provided; assist physician and/or registered nurses in transitioning patients from registration to services; administer and explain services; stock clinic rooms and manage supplies; may administer the department's car seat program and related rental handling. Requires completion of an approved CNA/CMA/Phlebotomy program, high school diploma or GED, and one year of relevant public health/clinical experience; CLIA-compliant laboratory work, patient measurements, specimen handling, and documentation are core duties; additional credentials may be required within defined timelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved program in Certified Nurse Assistant, Certified Medical Administrative Assistant, or Certified Phlebotomist Program
- One (1) year of experience in Public Health or in a medical setting such as; nursing home, hospital, doctor’s office, with experience in providing patient care services, conducting laboratory procedures, or the collection of specimens for laboratory analysis.
